About

A comprehensive account of Michael Rabinís short but stellar career.

Rabin (1936-1972) was one of the most talented and fondly remembered, tragically short-lived, violin virtuosi of his generation.

Rabinís exceptional technical command is on display on every track, whether as a soloist or accompanied by Balsam, Broddack, Lambert and Pommers at the piano.

His talent was also undeniable when he performed with orchestras, as in his famous 1958 version of Paganini's D major Concerto with Dimitri Mitropoulos, which is considered by many to be the most impressive recording of this work.

Studio and live recordings, 1950-1970
