About

Ronald Van Spaendonck (b.1970) is considered as one of the best clarinettists of his generation. He studied the clarinet with Walter Boeykens, Anthony Pay (London) and Karl Leister (Berlin). In September 2000, he was selected as a BBC New Generation Artist and gives both recitals and chamber music concerts at the Wigmore Hall, Djanogly Hall, St George's in Bristol and many festivals, including the prestigious Edinburgh festival where he has been invited to return many times.

This anthology alternates known and unknown classical works from the 20th and 21st centuries. French spirit, jazz humour, bucolic charm - all are offered, including three works never recorded before.

Eliane Reyes is the worthy partner of such clarinet fireworks: laureate of several international competitions since her début with the Concertgebouw at the age of eleven, she has devoted herself to a distinguished career as a soloist and chamber musician. She has collaborated frequently with Henri Demarquette, Pierre Lenert, Antal Szalai and Ronald van Spaendonck, and is the pianist of the Agapé Trio.
