About

In mid-15th century Naples there was a strong impulse towards development both in instruments and musical forms, including the buttafuoco and the sordellina. A recently discovered manuscript, dated 1600, by Giovanni Lorenzo Baldano (1576-1660) contains about 160 pieces for the sordellina. In addition, there are 36 pieces for buttafuoco: an instrument which can be identified as a hammer dulcimer played together with the zufolo, a small flute.

Contents:
- Anonymous: Villanelle and Moresche
- Baldano: Tablature Book
