About

Delicacy, lightness, elegance, refinement, tenderness, melancholy, joy, wit, enjoyment…these are the words which come to mind when we listen to the compositions on this recording, thanks to the combination of voice, harp and mandolin, which underlines the delicacy of timbres.

The unusual repertory ideally links two capitals of the musical history of the time: Naples and Paris. Both Domenico Cimarosa and Giovanni Paisiello departed from Naples and its famous conservatories, to launch their international careers.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to whom the second part of the programme is dedicated, also showed an interest in the mandolin, and it features throughout the composer’s catalogue from 1768 until the year of his death.

Also includes:
- L'incostante, Canzonetta I (Parody from 'Zauberflöte', K620)
- L'abbandonata, Canzonetta III (Parody from 'Zauberflöte', K620)
- L'allegro, Canzonetta VII (Parody from 'Zauberflöte', K620)
