L’Oiseau-Lyre is one of the pillars of Decca’s label history. The label came to represent the highest standard in original instrument performance. Decca Classics is releasing the complete catalogue of The Medieval Ensemble of London recorded by the group for L’Oiseau-Lyre and issued on their Florilegium series between 1980 and 1985. Their pioneering recordings of medieval and renaissance works went on to win prestigious recording academy awards and were the subject of critical acclaim.
