About

2021 marks the 70th birthday of Eugeniusz Knapik, one of the greatest living Polish artists and animators of musical life. This anniversary provides an excellent opportunity for a phonographic presentation of his works composed in 2020.

On this album, over two hours long, the composer decided to juxtapose his vocal and instrumental oeuvre with chamber compositions by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, his teacher and mentor.

This combination provides the listener not only with a great opportunity to get to know Knapik’s new works, but also allows us to discover the direct influence of the master-student relationship on the development of the compositional style.

The album was recorded by soloists (Sylwia Olszyńska soprano, Monika Sendrowska soprano, Tomasz Rak baritone) and musicians of the Silesian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maciej Tomasiewicz.
