ArtistsThomas Pietsch (Baroque violin)
Following the recording of his celebrated CD “Sei Solo with Sonatas and Partitas by Bach”, the Hamburg-based Baroque specialist recorded the 12 Fantasias in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Aumühle in Hamburg in January 2017. This recording has once again enabled him to make a major contribution to Hamburg’s long musical tradition and to the Hanseatic tradition of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Thomas Pietsch writes, ‘Telemann had completely assimilated French taste and certainly knew how to employ a genteel style. His elegant style of writing illuminates the fantasias in a light, graceful, witty and whimsical way.’
