About

‘New South American Discoveries’ is a showcase for some of the most brilliant South American composers born post 1950. These composers create their works from a personal perspective bred in the academe, yet without losing unique accents and nuances of the sound world of their native cultures. Maestro Miguel Harth-Bedoya leads the Norwegian Radio Orchestra in a vibrant programme of orchestral music hailing from Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia and Chile. All of the works are recorded here for the first time.

Grammy-nominated and Emmy Award-winning conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya is currently Chief Conductor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra/Oslo and just concluded his 15th season as Music Director of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Caminos del Inka, Inc., a non-profit organisation dedicated to performing and promoting the music of the Americas.
