About

Young London-based period ensemble, the Amadè Players, make their commercial debut with an album of premiere recordings of works from the early-Classical period.

Based around research into the period by conductor and artistic director Nicholas Newland, this first disc charts ‘Forgotten Vienna’, with formative classical symphonies and concertos that document this fascinating transitional music.

Featured are three works by Jean Baptist WanhalSymphony in A minor, Violin Concerto in B flat major and a Requiem – along with a double concerto by Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf and a Sinfonia from Carlo d’Ordoñez.
