Film Music Gala features the famous themes from timeless classics such as The Great Escape, Chariots of Fire, Where Eagles Dare, Zulu, The Deer Hunter, Alfie and Midnight Cowboy, to more recent big screen blockbusters - Pirates of the Caribbean, Love Actually, Star Wars - Attack of the Clones, War of the Worlds, Superman Returns and Harry Potter. The set also includes music from many iconic, all-time favourite movies: Ghost, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Dances with Wolves, Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Shawshank Redemption, Rocky, Jurassic Park, Romeo + Juliet, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Witness, The Piano… and many more.

Uniquely, some of the tracks on this box set were actually conducted on these recordings by the leading British composers who wrote the film scores – Grammy award winner David Arnold (The Stepford Wives and Stoned), Novello award winner Nigel Hess (Ladies In Lavender) and Debbie Wiseman (The Truth About Love and Arsène Lupin). Other well-loved composers whose music also features on these discs include: John Barry, John Williams, Michael Nyman, Burt Bacharach, Elmer Bernstein, Maurice Jarre, Nino Rota, Hans Zimmer, Dario Marianelli and Vangelis, among others.
