About

Guild’s first album dedicated to arrangers (GLCD5188) explained the importance of these often neglected, but very essential, members of the music fraternity. Their special gifts of being able to transform often simple melodies into masterpieces of orchestration are largely taken for granted by the general public.

Once again we hear some fine examples of this particular art from the likes of Conrad Salinger, Angela Morley, David Rose, Percy Faith, Nelson Riddle, Frank Cordell, Ray Martin and Robert Farnon.

Also getting their fair share of the limelight are some who were only familiar inside the music business, such as Brian Fahey, Rayburn Wright, Roland Shaw, Leon Young, Johnny Douglas and William Hill-Bowen.

Hopefully this collection will go a small way towards giving a few of them the recognition they so richly deserve.
