The London Symphony Orchestra made its first recording in 1913 and went on to become the most recorded orchestra in the world. However, until the launch of LSO Live, almost every recording that featured the LSO was owned and produced by another record company. LSO Live recordings are owned by the orchestra itself. The players, conductors and soloists are stakeholders in the recordings on which they appear and LSO Live works with some of the world’s leading producers and sound engineers. The musicians not only choose what should be recorded, but are also involved throughout the production process, ensuring only recordings they are happy with get released. Every release is now made available on high-resolution Super Audio CD (SACD - also playable on standard equipment).

Use this page to search for more specific requirements. Any combination of criteria can be used.
We would recommend keeping your search as simple as possible - this will help in returning the maximum number of results.
The following tips may assist you in your search:
- Avoid using punctuation marks and spaces when searching for catalogue numbers - all of these are removed for ease of use.
- Try using just one word in each of the fields you use. For example, only type the surname of an artist rather than their whole name.
- The keyword box will search the entire database, including all extra information attached to a product. This is best used for very specific words, or for adding an extra word to narrow down your search results.
- The genre box is useful for wider searching, but is not recommended for specific searches, as not every product has been assigned a genre. Please note that concertos are included under Orchestral and that Chamber includes all small ensembles of two musicians or more.
