Music for the Coronation of James II, performed by the Choir of the Chapel Royal with the Musicians Extra-ordinary, directed by Andrew Gant and recorded in the Chapel Royal.

Works by Child, Purcell, Blow,Tallis, Lawes and Turner are performed as they would have been over 320 years ago. At the coronation meal there were over 144 separate dishes served and the celebrations included fireworks, processions, crowns and sceptres and above all there was music. This disc is a celebration of that music.
