About

In her lifetime, pianist Jane Mary Guest (1762-1846) dazzled as a virtuosa. The daughter of a tailor, she soon attracted musical attention in her native Bath and went on to study with J.C. Bach, eventually winning the support of the Royal Family.

This previously unrecorded set of keyboard sonatas with accompanimental violin, dedicated to Queen Charlotte, is given its first outing here by two of the most charismatic musical personalities in the American Early Music scene. Their performance, on period instruments, beautifully captures the grace, wit, and sparkle of this unjustly forgotten composer.

Pianist and historical keyboardist Yi-heng Yang has been a featured performer with the New York Philharmonic Chamber Music Series at Merkin, the Boston Early Music Festival, Forte/Piano Festival at Cornell Center for Historical Keyboards, the Twelfth Night Ensemble, the People's Symphony Concerts, the Boston Clavichord Society, The Phillips Collection, Columbus Early Music, the Helicon Foundation, and Carnegie Hall. Her album of Schubert Lieder, "Where Only Stars Can Hear Us" (Avie Records) with Grammy award-winning tenor Karim Sulayman, was #1 on Classical Billboard and listed in the New York Times' "Best Classical Music of 2020." Yi-heng is on the faculty of The Juilliard School, where she teaches piano, fortepiano, performance practice, chamber music, and improvisation.

A unique and dynamic violinist, Aisslinn Nosky has captivated audiences around the world with her innovative interpretations and impeccable technique. As a soloist and director, Aisslinn has collaborated with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Holland Baroque, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and the New World Symphony. She was a core member of Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra from 2005 to 2016, and in 2011 was appointed concertmaster of the Grammy-winning Handel and Haydn Society. Aisslinn has recorded the complete Haydn and Mozart violin concerti with H&H on the CORO label.
