About

The Accademia Arcadia was flourishing in Rome at the time Andrea Stefano Fiorè, one of Italy’s true child prodigies, was there. The wide variety of stylistic influences and superlative quality of his cantatas, from lyrical simplicity to daring harmonic experiment, are confirmation of Fiorè’s uniquely poetic talent. Giovanni Antonio Giay succeeded Fiorè in service at the royal court in Turin, and these world-première recordings together reveal musical treasure of great value, sublimely documenting the extraordinary musical sensitivity of these rarely heard composers.

Paola Valentina Molinari, born in Milan, made her debut as a soloist singer in Gazzaniga’s Il convitato di pietra at Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo. She has since collaborated with acclaimed conductors including Claudio Abbado, Sebastiano Rolli, Giovanni Antonini, Adam Fischer, Enrique Mazzola, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Marcus Poschner. She has performed at numerous prestigious venues and festivals. She has recorded for cpo, Glossa, Emi, Deutsche Grammophon, Arcana, Sony, Bongiovanni and Nuova Era.

Luca Ronzitti, born in 1989, is a versatile musician specialising in organ and harpsichord. Ronzitti has a particular affinity for early and baroque music. He also transcribes and revises unpublished scores, especially from the baroque and classical periods and from the Piedmont area. Since 2022 he has been the artistic director of the Accademia del Santo Spirito.
