Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (2018), The Winter's Tale (2014) and Like Water for Chocolate (2022) represent three of Wheeldon’s most acclaimed recent productions for The Royal Ballet. Each ballet features designs by Bob Crowley and music by Joby Talbot, now an established stellar creative team alongside Wheeldon.

A spectacular reimagining of Lewis Carroll’s ever popular story, Lauren Cuthbertson dances the inquisitive title role in Alice, alongside Federico Bonelli, Steven McRae and Laura Morera. The Winter’s Tale captures the profound emotional trajectory of Shakespeare’s enduring story of jealousy, compassion and forgiveness, with strong company performances from Edward Watson, Zenaida Yanowsky and Sarah Lamb among others. In Like Water for Chocolate, the full company, led by Francesca Hayward and Marcelino Sambé, reshape a captivating family novel by Laura Esquivel into a richly layered and engrossing new ballet where passion, mystery and magic combine.
