About

Pieces and performances of exceptional historical interest, showing Thomas Jensen’s place at the centre of Danish musical culture in the 1950s and 60s. DRSO principals take starring roles in a pair of Nielsen concertos on CD1, which reaches an ecstatic climax in the composer’s early cantata in praise of love.

CD2 presents a survey of Danish composers from the early-Romantic era to Jensen’s own time, including a symphony composed in the aftermath of the Second World War, and two pieces vividly depicting the passing of the seasons.
