About

Jazz Legends is a series of iconic jazz concerts from the archives of Belgium public TV – captured from original film material.

A must-have for collectors and jazz fans in a strictly limited edition (250 boxes only).

Sarah Vaughan and her Trio playing at the Marni Theatre (Théâtre Marni), Brussels in 1974. With Carl Schroeder (piano), John Gianelli (bass), Jimmy Cobb (drums). This performance is featuring all-time classics such as “’Round Midnight”, “I’ll Remember April” and “I Cried for You”.

This Count Basie performance from 1961 recorded at the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Charleroi is an absolute captivating and intimate performance by the jazz legend.

Thelonious Monk is famous for his unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including Ruby, My Dear – included in this recording from 1963.

The Modern Jazz Quartet (2 DVDs) was established in 1952 and played music influenced by classical, cool jazz, blues, and bebop. In this collection included are performances from the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels,1961; from the 35th Anniversary Concert from Music Festival Freiburg, 1987 and from the 40th Anniversary Concert from Jazz Gipfel Stuttgart, 1992.

Bonus: Spirits of Music (2 DVD): 150 musicians from Cuba, Norway, Poland, Britain, Syria, Germany, Bulgaria and the USA contributed their "spirits of music" to an unusual concert event uniting classical and world music. Bobby McFerrin stands like no other for the reconciliation of  two musical worlds that are not so different from one another as they might seem. Nigel Kennedy plays many parts, excelling in all of them.
