What do you get if you mix folk music with the music of life? Musica Vitae has made a name for itself as a chamber orchestra of the highest class. Nordic has taken folk music both nationally and internationally with a passion for improvisation and influences from with influences from jazz, soul and reggae. Together, they have made a series of high-profile gigs, including at the Korrö Festival. But the question from above remains: what do you get? The answer is: a record unlike any other.

Nordic's own compositions are mixed with Pee Wee Ellis's fusion classic The Chicken. Dancing three-beat, cinematic floating arrangement and virtuosic key harp playing. All backed up by a coordinated and responsive chamber orchestra under the direction of Mårten Sundén.

'You are constantly struck by how the similarities are consistently greater than the differences whenNordic and Musica Vitae play together. These are two ensembles that really lift each other up andchallenge the boundaries of their respective genres,' says Emily Tatlow, director of Musica Vitae.

The album was recorded at Musica Vitae's home stage at Nygatan 6 in Växjö during a few packed days in the autumn of 2022.

'It feels great to play with Musica Vitae. Our audience can now hear Nordic's music in slightly biggerclothes. As our music sounds in our heads,' says Magnus Zetterlund from Nordic.
