About

Ingi Bjarni is a pianist and a true Nordic artist. Hailing from Iceland and traveling around the Nordics and Northern Europe to both perform and find new musicians with whom to appear, he has created a fine mix of musicians from different countries to complete his musical vision. His music is clearly inspired by jazz traditions, Nordic folk songs and electronica, while still retaining its own distinct sound. Farfuglar is a clear demonstration of that mix.

Ingi Bjarni is an Icelandic pianist/composer of considerable distinction and finesse, who seeks to shun creative boundaries in style or genre. He often works with colleagues in the Scandinavian countries where he has lived and whose open, artistic culture is closely entwined with that of his Icelandic homeland. He produces original works which, while informed by the jazz tradition, Nordic folksong and electronica, arise from a wellspring of meticulously-shaped imaginings. He has recorded four albums under his name, all of which have been well-received worldwide. We are proud to welcome Ingi Bjarni to NXN Recordings.
