Mozart's operas in the distinctive sound of the trio d'anches (reed trio) - the Trio Roseau has been extremely successful in expanding the repertoire of chamber music for winds.

Episode three presents a premiere recording in its take on Don Giovanni, whose darker sides are somewhat relegated to the background in favour of the "dramma giocoso".

Much to the advantage of the slender instrumentation with oboe, clarinet and bassoon, which in Ulf-Guido Schäfer's arrangement finds a wonderfully serenadelike tone.

Of course, the great arias are to be found in Schäfer's entertaining arrangement, in which the three instruments cheerfully compete for the leading role. In this way, the restriction to three voices is transformed into a lively collaboration that shows off the fabulous virtuosity of the three players to their best advantage.
