About

Seyed Sina Sadeghpour combines Persian folk music, classical Persian music and European contemporary music to create a very unique musical language. Being touched by the situation of female musicians in Iran a large part of his work is committed to the solo soprano. Inspired by contemporary and ancient Persian poetry, S. Sina Sadeghpour creates a bridge between times, cultures and traditions thus contributing a new perspective of our present time.

Seyed Sina Sadeghpour was born in 1977 in Tehran (Iran). After starting his musical education at the Tehran Conservatory playing the clarinet, he studied music at the Azad University, taking courses with Alireza Mashayekhi and Farhad Fakhraldini. During his studies he began playing at the Radio Symphony Orchestra Tehran.

In 2000 he left Iran to continue his education at the Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main. He completed his instrumental studies at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) under the direction of Sven van der Kuip. He decided to focus on composition, completed his Master's degree with Prof Gerhard Müller-Hornbach.

Seyed Sina Sadeghpour received the DAAD Award for creating a dialogue between Western and Eastern music traditions in his works. His works also include compositions for music theatre and film.
