About

The uniquely influential Russian musical and theatrical dynasty of the Liadov, Antipov and Pomazansky families supplied Russian culture with nearly 20 musical and theatrical performers, conductors, composers, and ballet dancers over the course of 150 years. Including numerous world première recordings, these wonderful pièces de salon are gems of Russian dance music, full of charming grace, melodic delicacy and nobility. A quote from Anatoly Liadov can stand as representative for all: ‘such is my character: do everything so that every bar gratifies.’

Dmitry Korostelyov was born in Volgograd and began his piano studies there. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 2003 and completed his post-graduate studies in composition under Valery Kikta at the Moscow Conservatory. As a pianist, he has performed with the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Volgograd Philharmonic Orchestra, and Russkaya Conservatoria Chamber Capella. He has recorded three albums with the music of Nikolay Peyko and Mieczysław Weinberg for Toccata Classics.

Olga Solovieva graduated from the Russian Academy of Music (Moscow) and took a post-graduate course as an assistant to Leonid Blok. In 1999 she was a prize-winner at the Open Taneyev Chamber Music Competition, Russia, and in 2000 a finalist at the XX Chamber Music Competition in Trapani, Italy. She received the Best Accompanist Prize at the XII International Tchaikovsky Competition and is a Boris Tchaikovsky Society Award Winner (2010). Her previous recordings of piano music by Boris Tschaikovsky and Alexay Stanchinsky gained critical acclaim, earning 5 stars from Ritmo and a Fanfare Wantlist badge, respectively. She has also recorded for Naxos, Toccata, Albany Records, and Northern Flowers.
