The Composers of the Ceiling in the Opéra Garnier

Mikhail Rudy has known Marc Chagall very well. He gave his first concert in the West with Rostropovich and Stern in Beethoven's Triple Concerto for Chagall's 90th birthday, in close collaboration with the Chagall family, which allowed the use of numerous sketches of the Garnier Opera House. Mikhail Rudy created a unique and original concert project based on the music of Gluck, Mozart, Wagner, Debussy and Ravel. The creation took place for the 40th anniversary of the National Museum Marc Chagall in Nice in July 2013, and in the House of Music of Nanterre. These events were followed by a series of concerts in the Festival La Roque d'Anthéron in the Théâtre des Champs Elysées and the Philharmonie de Paris.

Novel of a Pianist
This movie tells the incredible route of Mikhail Rudy, his family murdered or scattered, arrival at the Moscow Conservatory under the eye of the KGB, the wild love stories, the flight and the revival in Paris... The writing and the work of memory are the red thread of this documentary. Extraordinary combination of circumstances: the famous director Andy Sommer filmed Mikhail Rudy by admiration and friendship for a very long time, of numerous events and concerts thus exist in images (important meetings, births of his children, death of his parents, concert tours in France, Belgium and Russia, creation of Pascal Dusapin's composition).

Exceeding the simple visual illustration, these images take another value and show the life of one of the major pianists of our time.
