About

Pianist Olga Zado, the Lower Silesia Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and conductor Szymon Makowski perform works by Ludomir Różycki.

Ludomir Różycki (1883-1953) came from a musical family. Mother, musically talented, studied at the conservatory in Warsaw. Father was a professor of that conservatory. Well-known personalities of the musical world would pay a visit at his home, including Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Zygmunt Noskowski, Emil Młynarski, and Stanisław Barcewicz.

The artistic atmosphere must have had an influence on the composer’s life path. This album covers both known and less recognisable works of Różycki. In addition to the compositions inspired by Polish literature and history (symphonic poems Bolesław the Bold and Stańczyk), the album also contains the Piano Concerto no.1 in G minor, well-known and willingly performed by pianists.
