The Jugendlieder (early songs), were composed whilst Alban Berg was still a pupil of Arnold Schoenberg and chart the young composer’s musical journey from late Romantic love songs to songs written in the modern idiom.
Julia Bentley has performed widely in both opera and Lieder. She has been praised by the New York Times for her “rich sound and deep expressivity.”
