About

Based on Gerd Albrecht’s conviction that people should understand the music and comprehend the composers’ ideas, he developed his analytical educational concerts. In cooperation with the Sender Freies Berlin (SFB) and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin the TV series Wege zur Neuen Musik (‘Paths to New Music’) was established, and relaunched in the years 2010–2012 in cooperation with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin. Contemporary composers would get a chance to speak, talk about their creations, the way they work and their musical concerns. This edition combines six conversation concerts conducted by Gerd Albrecht.

Includes an extensive 200-page book with further information about the composers and their works.

‘Gerd Albrecht not only enjoys an international reputation as a conductor, he is also one of the most distinguished music mediators and concert educators in Germany’ - Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

‘He remained one of the most willful conductors of our time’ - Süddeutsche Zeitung
