About

The Austrian violinist Thomas Albertus Irnberger has for many years been cooperating with world-class orchestras and soloists. For this double SACD with the Violin Concerto and the Concerto for Piano, Violin and Cello (Triple Concerto) by Ludwig van Beethoven, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra offered their support under the baton of James Judd. Irnberger had already collaborated with pianist Michael Korstick and David Geringas, cello on their latest release with the Schubert piano trios.

Thomas Albertus Irnberger: Many awards, performances at international festivals and co-operations and recordings with musicians such as Jörg Demus, Evgueni Sinaiski or Paul Badura-Skoda as well as with the Israel Chamber Orchestra conducted by Roberto Paternostro and the orchestra ‘Spirit of Europe’ under its principal conductor Martin Sieghart highlight the young Salzburger’s musical skills.

Born in Vilnius/Lithuania, the cellist and conductor David Geringas is today revered as one of the most elite musicians. His intellectual severity, stylistic versatility, his melodic feeling and the sensuality of the sound he produces have earnt him awards from all around the world.

For his CD recordings, which have received excellent reviews in music magazines and journals, Michael Korstick has been awarded the ‘Echo Klassik Prize’, the Prize of German Record Critics several times and the MIDEM Classical Award.
