About

The family of an influential yet weakened rich industrialist are awaiting the return of the younger son, Ory, for his father to transfer his empire to him. His arrival leads to the emergence of many tensions and disagreements among the family members – in addition to two sons, there are also three daughters, each with a very different personality, as well as the husband of the eldest daughter and a woman whom he brought into the household.

What first seemed to be simple turns out to be a psychological knot of complex human relationships, and the question remains as to whether Ory will accept his responsibilities.

Since its world premiere at la Monnaie / de Munt (Brussels), Au monde has been critically acclaimed: “Unforgettable vocal composition” (Le Figaro), “A masterpiece” (Opéra Magazine).
