About

Genevieve Moizan started at the Paris Opera in 1949 in the role of Marguerite from 'Faust' and sang most of the traditional repertoire, but it was her work with the ORTF (the French National Radio ) that established her national popularity, as we can hear on this CD.

Her recording of Mignon with Jeanine Micheau under the direction of Georges Sebastian is still the reference version, and her operetta recordings (Mascotte, Les Saltimbanques, Paganini) are unforgettable.

She retired in 1968 for personal reasons.
