About

This second volume in VAI’s series features three major ballets by Balanchine, plus an extended excerpt from his version of The Nutcracker, which was the first full-length ballet to enter NYCB’s repertoire during the company’s fledgling years.

Balanchine himself is on hand to introduce Agon, a work he and Igor Stravinsky created for the NYCB in 1957.
