The very different compositions combined on this CD are the perfect way to experience the pianists Güher & Süher Pekinel at their best. Recorded live at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Ludwigsburg International Music Festival 2012, these superb interpretations are easy to hear and hard to forget.

“Today we find it incredibly electrifying when we have the experience of merging with one another”, they said in an interview four years ago. Indeed the two musicians, who in their youth had aspired to separate careers as soloists, do have distinct personalities as artists.

Süher Pekinel sums it up: “Our different styles create a synthesis when we play together, and the result is more powerful and unique. Balance and creativity are critical in this regard. One person can see something the other person has overlooked or does not consider important. Furthermore, we think the unique advantage of being twins is the ability jointly to achieve something that is brand new, because we see things from different perspectives. Ultimately, the stage is an adventure that always poses unforeseeable risks. It is a very unique pleasure to create and experience this adventure in one breath.”
