About
After the complete Symphonies and the Quartets, here is the first volume - of two - devoted to J-Guy Ropartz’s six Sonatas: three for violin, two for cello and the last, a Sonatina, for flute. These are not world premieres but this is the first time that these monuments of French music have been brought together. Heirs of Franck, they nonetheless set themselves apart with the mark of Brittany.
Four top-flight artists share the works: Nicolas Dautricourt, who has become more than a rising star of the French violin, Juliette Hurel, a glory of the French flute, Raphaël Pidoux, well known as the cellist of the Wanderer Trio, and François Kerdoncuff who adds a special note as a Breton.
