Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra
Exciting live Michael Houstoun/Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra performances coupled with an exquisite rarity, the Mozart Quintet for piano and winds. This CD programme celebrating the music of Mozart brings Michael Houstoun and the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra together under the baton of the acclaimed conductor Roy Goodman.
Michael Houstoun’s international success includes performing and studying under Rudolf Serkin. Roy Goodman has impeccable credentials which include being the founder of the Brandenburg Consort and the Parley of Instruments, and the principal conductor of the Hanover Band - although perhaps the pinnacle of his career must be as a chorister with the Choir of King’s College Cambridge, performing as the ‘high C’ soloist in Allegri’s Miserere, recorded by Decca in 1963!
