About

"This album is a paean to the life-enhancing qualities of the dance. Eternal Dance, Elf Dance, Pan Dance and Force 11 are predominantly upbeat affairs, the juxtaposition of contrasting meters an important feature of each piece. Farewell Patagonia is unashamedly a tango from start to finish, the Latin flavour also pervading the slow burn of Lochria’s Rhumba and Ice Maiden. We enter into the world of the intimate waltz in Remembrance, In The Eyes Of A Child and The Last Kiss. By contrast, it is jazz syncopation and Irish dance rhythms that drive the music forward in In The Pocket. Song For My Mother is a tribute to my own mother and The Sad Little Geisha Girl was inspired by Arthur Golden’s novel, Memoirs Of A Geisha." (Geoff Eales)

As well as being an outstanding classical flautist, Andy Findon is also one of the world’s leading exponents of the ethnic flute, his playing having been featured on hundreds of films, records and TV shows. However, his musical activities are not confined to the flute. He plays clarinet and all the instruments of the saxophone family, though it is the flute that is his greatest passion. He has been playing baritone saxophone and flutes in 'The Michael Nyman Band' since 1980 and is a member of the award-winning folk band 'The Home Service'. His personal recording projects include 2 multitracked CDs, several pan-pipe albums and the unaccompanied solo album 'Density 21.5'.

Geoff Eales
is a Ph.D graduate from Cardiff University where he studied composition under Professor Alun Hoddinott and piano with Martin Jones. His compositions include a symphony, piano concerto and numerous chamber works. After leaving university, Geoff moved to London, soon immersing himself in the city's thriving session scene. Before long, he became one of the most sought-after studio pianists, working with a vast array of musical luminaries including Henry Mancini, Elmer Bernstein and Lalo Schifrin. Geoff is regarded as one of the UK’s most formidable jazz pianists. He has ten highly acclaimed albums to his name and has graced the stages of many of the world’s leading jazz festivals, clubs and concert halls.
