About

A unique concert performance of Haydn's popular choral work set to beautiful BBC images of the natural world and great works of art by Haydn's contemporaries such as Blake and Turner, chosen to match Haydn's own literal vision of the Bible's verse.

Christopher Hogwood leads the Academy of Ancient Music and soloists Emma Kirkby (soprano), Anthony Rolfe Johnson (tenor) and Michael George (bass) in this original-instrument performance from the beautiful cathedral of Gloucester in the West of England. This performance of The Creation is sung in the original English (written before the German version Die Schopfung).

Produced & Directed by Chris Hunt.

Filmed 10 March 1990 in Gloucester Cathedral, UK.
