About

The piano recital held at the Salle du Parlement in Besançon belongs, without a doubt, to the great concert moments. Pianist Dinu Lipatti gave his last public performance on that now famous 16 September 1950 - he was suffering from leukamia and the cancer had already reached an advanced stage.

Lipatti's unique intensity, transparence, the gentle vitality of his playing and his subtle touch – all these helped raise this musical wizard to the level of a guiding light.
