More Details on Phoenix Story
A recital featuring some of Australia’s finest young musicians all in their early 20s, including the stunning twin cellists Pei-Jee Ng and Pei-Sian Ng who are beginning to make names for themselves internationally.
Pei-Jee Ng and Pei-Sian Ng were born in Sydney in 1984, and after training in Adelaide, where they grew up, both studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Ralph Kirshbaum, and appeared in the 2007 Manchester International Cello Festival. In May Pei-Jee was selected for representation by Young Concert Artists Trust (YCAT) in London and he’s also been selected as a Park Lane Group Artist for 2009. Pei-Sian was Commonwealth Musician of the Year in 2007, winner of the Gold Medal at the Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition held in London. Both have appeared as soloists with orchestras around the world. In January they made their debuts at New York’s Lincoln Center, and in April premiered the double cello concerto Helios, Helios by Estonian Tornu Korvits with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. In March 2009 Pei-Jee and Pei-Sian Ng give a joint debut recital at London’s Purcell Room.
Recorded direct to disc using DSD (direct stream digital) technology – the same technology behind the SACD and one that ensures absolute maximum performance from a CD.
Digipak with picture disc and 26-page colour booklet with essays and translations.
