About

After a first recording exploring the spirit of the symphonie concertante, the Freiburger Barockorchester presents the second instalment of its trilogy devoted to the concertos of Mozart.
Performance on period instruments is all the more revealing here in that wind instruments were undergoing an era of rapid development at the time of their composition. Constantly pushing forward the frontiers of technique and expressiveness, these works also offer us a truculent portrait of the composer's close rapport with his soloists.
Donna Agrell is principal bassoonist in the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and a founding member of the Orchestra of the 18th Century. She teaches historical bassoon at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague, and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, and regularly gives international master courses in Europe, the USA and Australia.
Katharina Arfken is a permanent member of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. Together with this ensemble and the likes of Concerto Köln, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the English Baroque Soloists, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and the Barockorchester Stuttgart she has given concerts all over Europe and the USA. She teaches historical oboe at the Schola Cantorum Basilienis and regularly holds master courses in Germany, Belgium, Finland and Sweden.
Teunis van der Zwart is a world-wide ambassador for the natural horn. He is principal horn in the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and the Orchestra of the 18th Century. As a soloist, teacher and lecturer he appears in numerous courses, concert series and festivals in Europe, the USA, Japan and Australia. Teunis van der Zwart teaches at the conservatories of Amsterdam and The Hague.
