About

Terra Nova Antwerp is a musical research ensemble based in Antwerp. The ensemble seeks out interesting unknown or forgotten music and breathes new life into it on the concert platform. These works are presented in the concert programme alongside more familiar works of the western musical repertoire.

This new recording features songs of love by Francis Thomé (1850-1909), Léon Van Cromphout (1842-1911) and Alphonse Hasselmans (1845-1912) alongside more traditional repertoire from Brahms and Saint-Saëns. It is coupled with Brahms's Trio for Horn, Violin & Piano, op.40.

A delightful disc featuring several premiere recordings.

Terra Nova Collective:
- Jeroen Billiet (historical horns)
- Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden (piano)
- Véronique Bogaerts (violin)
- Mark De Merlier (early valve horn)
- Marjan De Haer (harp)
