The visionary pianist David Greilsammer’s first recording for Sony Classical reflects his unique approach to programming music in order to create new listening experiences.

David Greilsammer is different. He wants to overcome the traditional boundaries of classical music and he is not afraid of taking risks. Whether he’s causing a sensation by performing all of Mozart’s Piano Sonatas in a single day or presenting music in unusual venues like the Geneva International Airport, or mixing dance, theatre and music at Paris’ new cultural flagship “La Gaité Lyrique” - his aim is always to open doors for new and younger audiences to experience classical music.

David’s first recording for Sony Classical is an adventurous dialogue between Baroque masterpieces and 4 contemporary works. The 12 solo piano works are clustered together in four groups. Each group contains a modern piece “sandwiched” by 2 Baroque pieces. In turns striking and provocative, the album offers a highly enjoyable and compelling listening experience.  

Israeli-born and educated at New York’s Juilliard School, Greilsammer’s audacious approach to music has gained him international acclaim since his concert debut at the Lincoln Center in 2004. This young pianist and conductor has impressed critics and audiences alike with his fascinating concert programmes.
