Carlos KleiberAbout
To commemorate the death of the great Carlos Kleiber (13th July 2004) - who recorded almost exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon - we are releasing this single midprice CD that brings together three appropriate items from his discography - Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony, Brahms's Fourth Symphony and a scene from Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, including the Liebestod (sung by Margaret Price).
Includes a full booklet note, with a newly commissioned article. Plus several of the famous Kleibergrams - postcards written by the artist to DG staff about musical matters and otherwise - all previously unpublished. Also includes a complete catalogue of his DG recordings. It's a perfect way to give people a feel for the Kleiber magic; and the postcards will get the fans going as well.
