About

In March 2019 Anatolijus Šenderovas, one of the most interesting representatives of contemporary Lithuanian music, died. The now-released edition with three CDs on DREYER GAIDO is an impressive homage to the sound creator, who was awarded the European Composers’ Prize in 2002.

Characteristic of his music is a moderately modern tonal language and its cheerful emotionality as well as a focus on sacred themes.

A lifelong friendship connected the composer with the well-known cellist David Geringas, who can be experienced here not only as a soloist and chamber music partner, but also as the conductor of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.
