Morten Johannes Lauridsen (born 27 February 1943) is an American choral composer. A National Medal of Arts recipient (2007) he was composer-in-residence of the Los Angeles Master Chorale (1994–2001) and has been a professor of composition at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music for more than 40 years.

On the occasion his 75th birthday in 2018, the Chamber Choir of Europe (conductor Nicol Matt) recorded Lauridsen’s landmark compositions in close collaboration with the composer himself.

The recording features carefully selected compositions and worldwide favourites of Lauridsen’s handwriting – calming, serene, simply beautiful. Two world premiere recordings are included.

24 singers from all over Europe, a small chamber music ensemble (European Chamber Soloists), and Lauridsen himself are joined under the baton of conductor Nicol Matt.
