A golden age of festive brass music: for centuries the atmospheric sound of brass instruments has been part and parcel of Christmas, with Baroque music – from the heyday of the trumpet – playing a special part. London Brass, the top-flight formation comprising musicians from a number of London’s orchestras, presents an album featuring both Baroque hits and a journey through the Christmastide music of various countries.
