About

Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Béla Bartók: Three masters of modernity, three masters of orchestral composition brought to life by internationally-acclaimed Russian conductor Tugan Sokhiev, Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and Music Director of Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse (ONCT) since 2008.

The Violin Concerto in D major, performed by the tempestuous Vadim Gluzman, is a testament to Beethoven’s genius. Gluzman plays the legendary 1690 ‘ex-Leopold Auer’ Stradivari on extended loan to him through the generosity of the Stradivari Society of Chicago.

Available on DVD for the first time: Béla Bartók’s The Wooden Prince, op.13, Sz60!

“In ten years, Tugan Sokhiev has breathed incredible energy into this Toulouse-based group of musicians […] The bringing together of these three composers is the result of 12 years of exceptional collaboration between L’Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse with Tugan Sokhiev, to rediscover its sense of vision, interpretation and quality.” - Charlotte Ginot-Slacik
