About

10-CD box set containing fifteen original albums either led by or featuring the legendary jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane, considered by many to be the greatest jazz artist of all time. The albums were recorded between 1956 and 1960 for labels such as Prestige, Blue Note and Atlantic.

The list of albums in full are Coltrane's classic LPs 'Soultrane', 'Giant Steps', 'Blue Train', 'Coltrane', 'Traneing In' and 'Cattin' with Coltrane and Quinichette'. Also contained are his appearances as a sideman on the Red Garland LPs, 'All Mornin' Long' and 'Dig It!', plus Ray Draper's 'A Tuba Jazz', Cannonball Adderley Quintet's 'In Chicago', the Prestige All Stars 'Wheelin' & Dealin', and Elmo Hope Sextet's 'Informal Jazz'.

This excellent value set also features his recordings as a co-leader on 'The Cats' with Tommy Flanagan, Kenny Burrell and Idrees Sulieman, 'Mating Call' with Tadd Dameron and 'Tenor Conclave' with Hank Mobley, Al Cohn and Zoot Sims.
