Violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann is one of the world’s top instrumentalists. His recordings are acclaimed by both the press and audience and have already received countless awards, such as the ECHO Klassik. He performs Mozart’s Violin Concertos Nos. 3 in G major & 5 in A major with the Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of Bernard Haitink. Accompanied by Enrico Pace, he plays Johann Sebastian Bach’s unrivalled violin sonatas.

The documentary “Bach and Me” gives viewers an insight into Zimmermann’s personal life and focuses on his relationship with the composer’s music. Moreover, we find out what the “Lady Inchiquin” 1711 Stradivarius violin means to him and why Enrico Pace’s historical Italian piano is very special.

“It is by far the greatest [joy] to play this music, to work with this music, to stride through this music over and over again, also to hear it. No matter if you turn on the radio, a CD or the television and listen to his music ... You do not know, where to put your hands. It is so ingenious and powerful. When I am restless or so, I play one movement of Bach Solo Sonata and I come back to myself and in fact, you do not need more.” - Frank Peter Zimmermann in “Bach and Me”
