Hans Rosbaud, 1895-1962 the Austrian conductor is an unsung hero in the world of mid-20th century music. He gave masterly performances and premieres of a wide range of music. He was a highly cultured and discrete Austrian scholar, equally dedicated to the First and Second Viennese Schools, and paved the way for Boulez who commenced in his wake in Baden-Baden.
