Martha Argerich’s sensational performance with the Orchestra of the 18th Century under the baton of Frans Brüggen, with which she performed Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no.1 for the first time on a historical instrument in 2012 during the Chopin and His Europe Festival.
Also to be found on the disc is the film 'The Breath of the Orchestra', directed by Kasia Kasica, made during the 'Chopin and His Europe' Festival in 2013. Produced by The Fryderyk Chopin Institute, the film is an intimate portrait of one of the greatest phenomena of the world’s music scene in the past century – Maestro Frans Brüggen and the Orchestra of the 18th Century.
